Limbo

“Sometimes we really can’t see the forest for the trees…”

Why am I drawn to you?

I shouldn’t be feeling you this way

We were only just friends…

At least that’s what we always say

Why can’t I forget you?

This attraction shouldn’t be

We were only just buddies…

But between us there’s chemistry

Why do I think about you?

In ways I know aren’t right…

We were only close comrades

You aren’t even my type…

Why do I wait for you?

When I know you won’t be there

We were only supposed to be pals….

But for some reason I’m still here

I care a great deal for you…

So much more than you’ll ever know

But I’ll never get a chance to show it

Because we’re stuck in Limbo

Lamentations...

Lamented

“I bet it seemed so right back then…”

Mistakes were made

Yet apologies weren’t told

Deeds were done

Now it just feels old

Seems like eons ago

It all went down so fast

I’ve moved on

Yet you’re stuck in the past

I can understand your grief

But you created your own reality

Now lie in that bed

You made by wronging me

If only you had the gumption

To do it right from the start

Then you wouldn’t be in this situation

Cursed with a heavy heart

Trapped in a boundless hell

Caused by your own pride

Your outward visage is a lie

Concealing your sadness inside

Now you ask yourself the question

Was it really worth it?

Maybe you should have thought it through

Then you wouldn’t be feeling like this...

I gave you an easy way out

Yet even then you still lied..

Maybe this is how it’s meant to play out

Oh well at least I tried…
